A bit of history...
Le Fleuron
is located in the heart of Old Longueuil in a magnificent and sumptuous
centennial home, which was built in 1888 by Michel Viger, mayor of
Longueuil from 1885 to 1915. Later, Henri Saint-mars, who was also
mayor of Longueuil (1912 to 1915), lived in this home surrounded by a
vast garden.
The
building, designed in the elaborate and ornate architecture of the
Queen Anne Victorian style, housed the renowned La Devinière restaurant
for several years. After being left vacant for several years, the house
was bought by Assam Ebrahim, who renovated it in 1997. He added a
country porch, which is one of the characteristics of the Queen Anne
style, and created Le Fleuron of Old Longueuil.
